I am a gerontologist. This overview is highly simplistic and there should be some clarifications and refinements. Three points. Alzheimer's is one form of dementia. That section should be about preventing DEMENTIA, not Alzheimer's disease. Second, use the life expectancy data for the USA and it should be current. It can be found here https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/nchs_press_releases/2022/20220831.htm Finally, the first page should be clarified, as this document is specifically about aging in the USA: "A SNAPSHOT OF TODAY’S OLDER ADULTS." Should be, "A SNAPSHOT OF OLDER AMERICANS."

I share this handout with my Psychology of Aging students. All of the issues in the handout are discussed in detail throughout the semester. Given the aging population in America, and that more of our population is older, these are important issues for everyone.
