Nonverbal Learning Disabilities
This is the first of nine workshops on Nonverbal Learning Disabilities presented on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Groves Academy. It was presented by Ellen Engstrom, M.A., Groves Academy Director of Teacher Training
Nonverbal learning disabilities (NLD) affect a child's visual-spatial processing and executive functioning. As a result, social and academic function can be significantly impaired. Children with the NLD diagnosis are at high risk for depression, anxiety disorders, and social and academic difficulties. This workshop will provide an overview of NLD and recommendations for school setting and best educational practices.
