Death Penalty Focus is a large and growing group with members from all walks of life who come to their concern about state killing from many different perspectives -- religious, moral, economic, legal, political, social and personal -­- who have come to share a common view that capital punishment is neither necessary nor appropriate in our modern society. They believe that just as the United States has put away such horrors as slavery and torture, the time has come to recognize that, because we have the ability to safely imprison those unwilling or unable to live by the social contract, the killing of our citizens serves no social purpose and only denigrates life as it erodes our moral fabric.
