This is an extremely informative site regarding the history of Formula One, the second largest spectator sport in the world.(Soccer is number one)There are several links and pictures. A 'must see' for any automobile enthusiast.

Technical Remarks:

Every kind of new automobile technology stems from F-1. Disc brakes, carbon fiber, aerodynamics, mechanical systems, and countless others came from the contributions of automotive engineers over the past 60 years.
