The BlueFish Media Design WebQuest provides learners an engaging, collaborative activity – an opportunity to act in various web design job roles while creating a product for a “client”. 

During this WebQuest, students will work in groups to choose a “client”, evaluate competitor’s websites according to a Web Design Best Practices Checklist (see http://terrymorris.net/bestpractices), and propose a page layout design which applies best practices of web design. In each group, students will role play as the Fearless Leader, the TextMaster, the DesignGuru, and the PixelMeister.

The WebQuest is intended for use in a web design or web development course and is located in the resource website for the textbook, Web Development & Design Foundations with XHTML, The BlueFish Media Design WebQuest is an authentic activity for learners -- it is relevant, collaborative, and draws from a variety of resources. Rubrics are provided for each task.
