1. This is an outstanding site that uses color to help identify the patterns you will find in Pascal’s triangle.  It is interactive and allows you to clearly see the patterns that you can’t see quite so easily when studying a two color example.  In addition the site does a great job of teaching all the concepts behind the triangle from a liberal math perspective.  The writers make a point of telling you that it has been written for students with a limited math background.  It also includes teaching notes, a PowerPoint presentation, and general comments on the theories that were helpful to me in identifying the so called twists.  The animation and interaction is well done and you can take things a step further if you want by looking at cellular automata.  I especially enjoyed when they put the triangles together to form new patterns in a hexagon shape.  I had looked at many of these types of designs in tiling and never put the triangle and the use of its design together.  It also introduces the use of color and how humans perceive it, and how that impacts our visual analysis.  Another concept that it introduces is how the use of color can change different modulus to look like each other.
