This is a 37 page lesson plan in which students perform three separate lab activities to examine evidence found at the scene of the crime. The students perform a Kastle-Meyer Color Test, a Flame Test and Fingerprint Identification. Students then compose a Crime Lab Report to summarize their conclusions and solve the mystery. I have reviewed this material several times and have considered utilizing some of the activities in an introductory criminal investigation class but feel the material would be best suited for 11-12 grade students interested in a career in criminal justice.
