Free Rice

This site provides the opportunity for users to enrich their vocabulary and to enable donations to be made for people in need. This is how it works: The user is given a multiple choice vocabulary question. If they get the answer correct, 20 grains of rice are donated and a harder word is generated. If the answer is incorrect an easier word is generated. It also gives a raring of your level of difficulty. 50 is the highest. This program can be used by anyone who can read. Many elementary school students really enjoy it, but the more advanced words give adults a challenge as well. The donations are actually made by the advertisers on the site. The donations are made through the United Nations World Food Program. The site provides links that show how much rice has been donated and where is has gone. It is distributed to many different countries. A pie chart of the top 10 is available. The site was opened on October 7, 2007and is rapidly gaining popularity. Some of the details about the way the game is played are being updated frequently in an effort to continually improve the site. In fact they have already been able to double the per-word donation
