Populus

Populus is a software program that contains a set of population biology and evolutionary ecology simulations. Version 5.4 runs on UNIX, LINUX, Windows, and Mac OS X. Ecological models that can be investigated with this software simulation include: Density-Independent Growth, Lotka-Volterra Competition, Density-Dependent Growth, Continuous Predators & Prey, Demography & Age Structure, and Infectious Microparasitic Diseases. Detailed instructions and assignments require the purchase of the lab manual, "Basic Populus Models of Ecology" from Prentice-Hall, but the program is a free download.
