The Memories of The Netherlands

Memory of the Netherlands is a gigantic digital treasury, full of information about the Dutch past. Visitors to the Memory website have access to hundreds of thousands of superb images, recordings, film footage and texts that have been classified under some fifty digital collections. Together, they offer a unique and varied picture of the history and culture of the Netherlands. Memory of the Netherlands is coordinated by the Koninklijke Bibliotheek (National Library of the Netherlands). The KB ensures that all digital materials are stored properly and made accessible. The actual projects are carried out by the participating cultural institutions. This website is a publication of the Koninklijke Bibliotheek, to which the Copyright Act of 1912 and the Databank Act of 1999 are applicable. All rights to the database, the format, the meta-data and the digital reproductions and text are held by the Koninklijke Bibliotheek and/or the institution serving as owner or proprietor of the object on which the digital reproduction is based.
