This three-minute screencast concentrates on clarifying the distinction between scholarly and popular periodicals. It is a narrated visual presentation combining line drawings, photographic images, and document screenshots. Characteristics of scholarly periodicals and reasons for choosing them are presented at the beginning. The program also includes helpful tips and definitions of related terms. The Flash video can be controlled by a bar beneath the frame that has a horizontal position slider, along with play, pause, and volume options.
