This program describes in detail the beginning steps of a research project: selecting a topic, formulating a question based on that topic, and refining the meaning and scope of the question. The site illustrates how students can make a research topic manageable by broadening and narrowing concepts, and suit the topic to the demands of an assignment, such as length and time constraints. The program concludes with a three question quiz that gives instant responses to answers chosen.
