What Investigators Must Prove

What Investigators Must Prove

Jim Pharr examines what investigators must prove at a fire. Pre-flashover, a firefighter can see items that have no reason to be the case under normal conditions, such as an ignitable liquid on a fire. In post-flashover conditions, this evidence may be obscured. Look for lines of demarcation and places where the fire burned hotter, longer or worse in a certain location. Although this line does not prove that an ignitable liquid was present, it causes you to look for the patterns that were present in that fuel package.
