According to Intute, Analyzing and overcoming the sociological fragmentation in Europe (Anovasofie) is a cooperative project initiated by the European Commission in 2004. It involved eight European countries and aimed to provide comparative information about the development of sociology within Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Poland, Sweden and Turkey. It is also a study of "the status of sociology as a discipline".
