Gathering student input and making mid course design changes

Dr. Ramachandran teaches drama in an introductory class that has many pre-med students who have little interest in the subject. She was unhappy with how the course was going so she conducted a mid course assessment and made changes to her course that significantly improved student engagement and satisfaction. She offered her students a choice between a final exam and the performance of a play, and used a class period to discuss what would be useful for students to learn from a course about drama.
