Christina Harrison (Teacher (K-12))
The presentation was easy to use and follow. The review questions were appropriately placed. It was great that you required the students to go back until they answered the question correctly. The pictures really help the students see the parts of the cell. The videos and links to the articles also were great resource to emphasize the importance of the cell parts and the functions. I particularly liked the cell size link. That was interesting to see how extremely small cells can be.
Technical Remarks:
There wasn’t an action button on the “More on ER” slide so I couldn’t forward without exiting the slide show and restarting at the next slide. If students didn’t know how to start a slide show at a specific slide, they wouldn’t be able to complete this lesson.
I need to see and hear what I am learning in math and science courses, so having extra audio on some of the slides would be beneficial to ensure understanding.
Kyle Whymer (Teacher (K-12))
This is a very good StAIR resource. The resource does a really good job of incorporating visuals and YouTube tutorials. This allows for visual learners and auditory learners to learn as well as text learners. The resource also does a good job explaining exactly who the target audiance is and what the objectives are for the StAIR.
Technical Remarks:
The more on ER slide (#32) does not have a link to move on when viewed in Kiosk mode. Also, perhaps audio, such as podcasts, could be added for the text on the slides. That would allow visually impaired students the ability to access the material rather than have a barrier for this resource.

Very nice job on this Stair. I does a great job of teaching the structure of a cell. It contains a lot of information and the graphics do a great job of showing what the text is talking about. the lesson does a nice job of starting big and working it's way to the smaller parts. I am assuming there is some prior knowledge the students have to know what some of the terms are, as I got lost in the terminology a little. Your review questions were appropriate for the material and spaced nicely for the learners to check their learning. Your links and videos are a great way for the students to put their new knowledge to use, great use of visuals.
Technical Remarks:
My suggestions would be to have the links open in a new window as I closed the lesson a few times trying to get back. There was a youtube link that did not exist on The Ribosomes page. On the second to last slide, there is no link to the Cells Alive page.
Adding an audio link will help the learners that struggle with text.
