Learning to communicate electronically is an import skill for all children.  From the time they start writing with a pen and paper they should also be introduced to similar electronic communication skills.  More and more frequently students are using electronic communication and every day they seem to also have more opportunities to use a growning number of digital tools. (email, texting, blogging, social networking, cloud applications, "smart" devices, etc.).  Teaching students proper digital communication skills early helps to counter the bad skills/habits they pick up navigating the digital world on their own.

This lesson is a basic introduction to word processing and can be used with students in 2nd or 3rd grade.
