These are three introductory science lessons I used for my seventh grade class.  The first is to test students' previous science knowledge from primary school.  There is a handout, then a powerpoint to review the answers and talk about the basics of science.  Then I made available a graphic organizer designed from the Holt Science Textbooks' Scientific Method flow chart.  There are so many variations of the scientific method, and I decided it would be best to expound from the flow chart in the textbook.  This allows the students to structure the process, write a hypothesis and create a draft for designing a lab.  The final unit is another an introductory exercise on science lab equipment.  The teacher demonstrates the various equipment silently, while students observe, record and guess the use of each individual piece.  After the students complete the observation, the teacher can then review the individual lab equipment in a powerpoint.
