Dog Face Soldiers: The US 3rd Infantry Division in WWII

THis is a repository of information, including interviews, personal recollections, and photographs of the US 3rd Infantry Division, as chronicled by elements of the US 3rd Signal Corps. It follows the 3rd Division from their participation in the invasion of Italy at Anzio all the way through their occupation duty in Austria at the very end of the war.

A key value of this site is its vast collection of photographs, each with a brief explanation. Many of these photographs are published here for the first time ever. They provide an invaluable resource to the historian as well as the hobbyist seeking to study the daily lives of the American soldier in WWII, especially in oft-overlooked campaigns of Italy and southern France.
