The paper intends to explain, in a very simple manner, the following aspects related to the Contactor: Definition and main characteristics, Constituting elements and operation principles, Basic specifications, Types of Contactors and Applications. The work belongs to a collection that is devoted to describe basic switchgear devices used in Low Voltage electrical installations.
