Goodreads is a platform for readers to share, search, review, and organize the books they read/want to read.  There are several informational organizational systems at work on Goodreads.  The underlying platform is dictated by secret Amazon algorithms, but the users can also organize their own information in a variety of customized ways.  There are many types of interactions users can have both with information as well as social networks.  This Goodreads presentation breaks down a few of the ways in which information is organized as well as some of the social operations users can perform.     This lesson is a basic overview and would only require the facilitator a familiarity with a Goodreads account.  The workshop outcomes are straightforward: understand how to create and organize Goodreads shelves, and social aspects of the platform.  It provides a basic outline in which you can begin to question deeper topics such as diversity within Goodreads, personal information organizational systems, and types of categorization and classification.  One of the activities in this Goodreads information organization plan is to walk through setting up a shelf, and where and how to find and organize your friends.  Additional supporting materials can be found here: Goodreads Organizational Lesson Plan Supplemental Material
