 Breakthrough Starshot and related projects aim to design a tiny spacecraft capable of voyaging to Alpha Centauri within our lifetime (it employs an array of giant lasers).  A new guide for instructors has been developed by veteran astronomy educator and textbook author George Greenstein, designed to help science teachers at the college and advanced high school level introduce their students to this exciting possibility. It also uses the project to introduce students to some of the most important principles of physics, such as energy, momentum, conservation laws and quantitative reasoning.
