This OER provides an introduction to using the python programming language to automate tasks in Esri ArcGIS software (modules 1-9) and a brief introduction to making web maps and apps with ArcGIS Online (modules 10-12). It was developed to accompany GEOG315 - GIS Programming and Web Mapping, a course taught at Fort Lewis College as part of the GIS Certificate Program. The course is aimed at mid-upper level students who have had at least one semester of training in ArcGIS and GIS fundamentals. The content in this OER is approximately 75% devoted to the GIS programming part, and 25% to the web mapping part.
