Spotify as an Organizing System is designed to provide users with an introduction to the Spotify platform including:

• User features and functions
• Influence algorithms have on user content

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session users will be able to:

• Identify utilization of public and private features in Spotify
• Articulate basic factors influencing Spotify algorithms
• Navigate Spotify’s catalog of artists, albums, genres, playlists, and podcasts

Presentation includes:

• Overview of Spotify desktop interface
• Instructions for building a personalized library
• Introduction and instructions of social interactions supported by the platform 
• Introduction of collaborative-based and content-based filtering
• Spotify generated playlists curated for individual users
• Spotify Wrapped overview
• Interactive activity for students to build class playlist
