Importance of ICT in education

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is a blanket term encompassing all the technologies and services involved in computing, data management, telecommunications provision, and the internet. These technologies all deal with the transmission and reception of information of some kind.Nowadays the development of Information and Communication Technologies has strong potential to transform economies and societies in several ways, such as reducing information and transaction costs, creating new collaborative models to increase the efficiency of workers, promoting innovation, and improving education. ICT can contribute in universal access to education and deliver quality learning and teaching. Students can learn materials as well as teacher can deliver their knowledge into students.Some of ICT trends are like Spreading intelligence throughout the cloud, self-managing devices, communication beyond sight and sound, fundamental technologies reshaping what networks can do & weaving security and privacy into the IoT fabric. Government should review theireducational policies in light of ICT importance in modern time and create policies based on ICT.
