This ten minute lesson is designed to briefly introduce library patrons to the Libby e-book and audiobook app, with a focus on how to navigate the curated collections, how to find items in the app, and how to use the personal tagging system. Each of these goals has a section of the lesson dedicated to it with an associated activity. This modularity allows for the instructor to use the full lesson or to focus on one of the three modules, depending on learners’ familiarity with technology. The included slides require a method of display, such as a projector, screen, etc.; each activity requires that the instructor and/or learners will have access to Libby and an electronic device capable of running either the app or web app version. By the end of the full lesson, learners should be able to 1) give a general description of what Libby is and how it might be used, 2) navigate Libby’s home screen collections, 3) perform more well defined searches through the use of filters and facets, and 4) implement personal tags.
