Welcome to Elementary Statistics! Just what is Statistics? The simple answer is "the analyzing of data", but you may want a more detailed explanation than that. Data Analysis is a term commonly used for the collection of fundamental concepts from statistics, probability, graphs, measurements, and converting units.

Memorizing formulas and just being able to do problems are not enough to prepare foradvanced math classes and college. In order to succeed in mathematics, it is my belief that students must fully understand the concepts, be able to apply them to real-world problem solving, and be able to make sense of the results. Here we will focus on not just the what and when, but also the why, how, and where is it used. Most students who do not succeed in math or dislike math, probably were told: "Just do it the way I told you, get through it quickly and move on. Don’t worry about understanding it". I have seen many students with a fear and dislike of math, who have succeeded and actually started to like it, once they are shown the "big picture" and how it all comes together
