This is a graduate school assignment I completed for Athabasca University's Master of Nursing Generalist Program. This assignment allowed me to explore the following:

1. How does nursing knowledge guide my practice, or in other words, what is my epistemological stance?

2. How is my clinical practice informed by a nursing theory - namely Callista Roy's Adaptation Model?

3. What are the strengths and limitations of using the Adaptation Model in my clinical practice as an ICU nurse?
