The International Association of Bryologists (IAB) was established in 1969 at the XI International Botanical Congress in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A. Our mission is to promote international cooperation and communication among all who are interested in the biology of bryophytes, whether amateur or professional.  We work towards this through the sponsorship and organization of meetings and symposia covering various aspects of bryology, as well as through IAB-sponsored publications, including The Bryological Times and Bryophyte Diversity and Evolution. The Association also supports the publication of reviews, software, lists, and compendia, advancing resources for the global bryology community.
