Starting point for this textbook on Transport Phenomena is the classical analogy between mass, heat and momentum transfer. In addition, our textbook consistently exploits the technique of drawing up balances, in the derivation of the differential equations which are key in Transport Phenomena as well as when solving problems in flow, transport and transfer problems. Our derivation of the Navier-Stokes equations at the end of the textbook pursues the same balances approach and in this way is a perfect preparation towards the technique of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
