Tourism was a product of industrial modernity: fixed homes, fixed jobs, annual leave, clear borders between "here" and "away." Every one of those conditions is eroding. Remote work dissolves the workplace. Digital nomadism dissolves the home. Climate migration dissolves the voluntary/involuntary travel distinction. Virtual and augmented reality dissolve the requirement of physical presence. Algorithmic curation dissolves serendipity. Platform economies dissolve the boundary between host and guest. The book argues that what replaces tourism is not "better tourism" but a new, unnamed condition of fluid human mobility that demands entirely new management frameworks, ethical vocabularies, and business models.
