Pendulum Phase Space Orbit -- Single-Cycle

Pendulum Phase Space Orbit -- Single-Cycle

An animation showing a pendulum's oscillation in phase space, with a time axis curving back on itself in a circle. The pendulum has an orbit whose period coincides with the cycle time. The orbit begins on the +p axis, dips down to the max negative velocity, rises to zero velocity on the -p axis, rises to maximum velocity then returns to the +p axis at the starting point since there were no energy losses. The user may change the viewpoint of the graph.
