The latex agglutination technique is used to distinguish Streptococcus species from one another based on the Lancefield serotype groupings. The latex agglutination simulation provides information about the biochemical test including the purpose, mechanism, components, method and interpretation of test results. This site also offers students a simulation where they can practice performing the latex agglutination test.
