NWF local wildlife zipguides

Free local web-based wildlife guides are available for birds, butterflies, mammals, reptiles & amphibians, trees, and wildflowers. To get a free local web-based wildlife guide, select a group, enter your e-mail address, then enter a zip code or go to the site and click on a map of the US. This resource shows at a very simple level how the Internet benefits science research. With this free resource, any classroom teacher can keep a running list of the wildlife seen within a school district neighborhood. eNature.com was cofounded in February 2000 by Andrew Stewart, the publisher of Chanticleer Press, Robert Ellis, former publisher and lead investor of XOOM.com, and Chris Krueger and Amy Pertschuk, founders of C-Wave, a San Francisco-based internet design and development agency. In February 2001, the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), the largest US conservation group, announced its acquisition of eNature.com. The for-profit eNature site continues to operate independently, but now shares content and nature discovery tools with the non-profit NWF.org.
