Linear Regression Calculator

Logo for Linear Regression Calculator
This is a virtual linear regression calculator. It allows students to enter data points, experiment with where the line of best fit might be, and then lets them see the correct line of best fit as well as the outliers. You can click through the introduction.

E Bremer (Student)

I thought it was one of the most user friendly applications for linear regression. I liked that the students had the ability to move the potential least squares line to what they might think it would be and then have the actual prediction line post. I also have concerns about the formula used for the outlier section. I skipped that part of the application because I did not want to confuse my students.

Technical Remarks:

When plotting points, after clicking the box to plot points, I would have the program clear out the entry field in order to add new points. This way there is no confusion about what has been entered.
Time spent reviewing site: An hour on my own time and then in a class lesson, probably about 20 minutes.
