In this animation, the movement of molecules across the cell membrane is discussed. The various modes of distribution such as simple diffusion, facilitated diffusion and active transport are examined as well as how these acts of transport work and what molecules each of these can transport. An activity at the conclusion of this animation is provided and permits one to name the type of transport and whether it requires an input of energy.
