Welcome to the AI-Integrated Open Educational Resource (OER) for Introductory Statistics. This textbook was developed to help instructors incorporate artificial intelligence into an introductory statistics course in an engaging way. Rather than treating AI as a shortcut to answers, these materials use AI as an interactive learning partner that encourages students to think critically, explain their reasoning, and develop both statistical and AI literacy.

The OER includes interactive Custom GPT lessons, companion course notes, AI-assisted homework, weekly learning activities, AI literacy exercises, and StatCrunch-based statistical analyses. Together, these resources provide students with opportunities to actively engage with statistical concepts while learning to evaluate and responsibly use AI tools.

Because Custom GPTs cannot currently be shared through ChatGPT Edu, instructors will create their own GPTs using the provided instruction files. This guide explains how to set up the materials, organize the course components, and successfully implement the resources in your own classroom. Whether you choose to adopt the entire curriculum or only selected activities, these materials are designed to be flexible, adaptable, and easy to integrate into a variety of introductory statistics courses.
