MicroVlabs is a free interactive 3D virtual microbiology laboratory simulator designed to help students learn and practice microbiology laboratory techniques in a safe, self-paced environment. Students can perform virtual laboratory workflows including aseptic techniques, bacterial culture and subculture, standard curves, microbial growth curves, Gram staining, and environmental monitoring. The simulation allows students to practice procedures, make mistakes, observe their consequences, and repeat laboratory exercises to reinforce procedural understanding. MicroVlabs can be used for independent learning or as a supplementary resource alongside undergraduate microbiology laboratory instruction. Available for Windows and macOS.
