Material Detail

Cosmic Calendar is a free interactive science resource that maps the history of the universe onto a single calendar year. It helps learners visualize the scale of cosmic time by placing major events, from the Big Bang to the emergence of modern humans, onto familiar months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds.

The resource includes an interactive visual timeline, a calculator for converting real ages into Cosmic Calendar dates, explanatory pages on the age of the universe and Earth, a Big Bang timeline, student-focused learning content, FAQs, and a methodology page.

Possible uses include introductory astronomy, cosmology, Earth science, general science, classroom demonstrations, independent study, and discussions about scale and scientific chronology.
