Material Detail

Weather2 is a multilingual, real‑time global weather report generator designed for use in STEM education, data literacy training, and introductory programming courses. The tool automatically updates every four hours and provides structured meteorological data in eight languages (Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Arabic, Russian, and Portuguese), making it accessible to learners around the world.

Weather2 helps students explore real-world weather information while practicing data interpretation, SQL-based data extraction, and basic automation concepts. The project includes open-source code, a public GitHub repository, and a GitHub Pages interface that allows learners to access weather reports without installing software. Educators can use Weather2 to teach topics such as climate patterns, global temperature comparison, humidity analysis, and the fundamentals of working with APIs and structured datasets.

Because the tool is updated automatically, it can be used for daily classroom activities, long-term projects, or independent study. Weather2 is licensed under MIT, allowing instructors to freely adapt, extend, or integrate the tool into their own curriculum.
