'The following pages will cover the basics of what plagiarism is and how to avoid it, how to use quotations,and how to paraphrase properly. In addition, some of the misconceptions about what constitutes cheating will be addressed. Throughout this module you will be quizzed over the materials so make sure to answer each question.

I know that all of this can seem somewhat negative to many students. That is not the intent of this module. The intent is to make sure that you are aware of the policies and that you realize that is up to you to decide how you will behave in the classroom. Our wish is that you have a positive college experience and we hope that we have given you a tool that will help you in this endeavor.'
