Case Study: Use of Handheld Computers by University Communications Students
In this case study of a small group of communications majors in a large university, each student was given a handheld computer using the Palm operating system and a keyboard for a semester. Students attended weekly meetings to learn software and hardware applications and to discuss how they were using their handheld computers. The students had little difficulty incorporating the handheld computers into their academic and personal lives. Even though all students said they found the handheld computers to be of great benefit, only those students moving to full-time employment actually purchased Palm OS handheld computers.
