The learn oncology website is designed to support instruction in oncology from an integrated interdisciplinary perspective.   The goal of the website is to support medical students and other health professional undergraduate students (eg. nursing, radiation therapy) in their development of the knowledge, attitude and skills required to provide competent, compassionate and interdisciplinary care to oncology patients. The website format selected for curriculum delivery is one of online learning modules, virtual patient (VP) experiences and a novel oncology app. Each learning module approaches oncology topics from an interdisciplinary perspective.  Modules are supplemented by relevant VPs,  simulations of “real-life clinical scenarios; where learners emulate the roles of health care providers to obtain a history, conduct a physical exam, and make diagnostic and therapeutic decisions”.  A novel oncology app provides learners with the opportunity to review material using flaschcards and track their progress.  This is the largest online repository of oncology materials for students in health professions. An evaluation mechanism has been imbedded in the project development and we have demonstrated a positive impact on learner attitudes andknowledge.
