AIIDE 2010 StarCraft Competition

This video was recorded at AAAI 2011: AI Video Competition. AIIDE 2010 hosted the first StarCraft AI competition enabling researchers to evaluate their systems in a commercial real-time strategy game. Participants were presented with the task of building the best performing bot for head-to-head AI matches in a double-elimination bracket. The competition consisted of four tournaments, which range in complexity from small-scale combat to complete gameplay, simulating the environment faced by professional gamers. The goals of the competition were to provide a testbed for AI and to promote game research by exhibiting techniques in an immensely popular game. Participants included several universities, industry professionals, and hobbyists.
