Mreže in samoorganiziranost v bioloških sistemih / Networks and self organization in biological systems

This video was recorded at Mednarodni posvet Biološka znanost in družba: Organizmi kot živi sistemi / International Conference Bioscience and Society: Organisms as living systems. V pričujočem članku se bomo sprehodili skozi nekaj primerov samoorganizacije v bioloških sistemih, kot so, denimo, nastanek vzorcev, kolektivno vedenje organizmov v jatah in samoorganizacija socialnih ameb. Ogledali si bomo, kako takšne sisteme modeliramo s celičnimi avtomati, ter poskušali pojasniti, kako mrežno modeliranje bioloških kompleksnih sistemov pomaga pri razumevanju soodvisnosti njihovega delovanja in strukture. This article deals with examples of self-organisation in biological systems. There are few examples: formation of patterns, collective behaviour of flocks of organisms and self-organisation of the social amoebas. It will be shown how such systems can be modelled by cell automates. Furthermore, it will be explained how net moddelling of the complex biological systems may help in understanding the co-dependence of the systems' structure and function.
