Surface plasmon resonance imagery and single molecule approaches of proteo-nucleic complex self-assembly

This video was recorded at Kolokviji na Institutu "Jožef Stefan". The presentation will illustrate the use of use surface plasmon resonance imagery and of single molecule approaches based on quantum dot labelling for the analysis of the dynamic and structure of proteo-nucleic assemblies. Semi-synthetic complexes (PDAs), encompassing a protein part embedding electro active redox cofactors and a nucleic acid part allowing highly controlled self-organisation of the protein domains, were designed and constructed. This approach allows the building of large and fully defined chain of electron transport centres with tuneable spatial organization. Association with quantum dot offering single molecule monitoring power opens the route to the use of self-assembled bio molecules as molecular wire for bioelectronics.
