The Art of Der Spiegel: Cover Illustrations over Five Decades

Stefan Kiefer graduated with a master's degree in illustration and opened a studio as a freelance illustrator in 1983 in Hamburg along with his French partner Gilles Veron. He quickly became a well known specialist for photo-realistic illustrations. His clients were all major German ad agencies and publishing houses such as Der Spiegel, Stern magazine, Rowohlt, S.
