Animations are very useful to keep students focused and centered on the topic. Most of high school students seem to enjoy watching videos. I would use an animation similar to this one to teach a topic that involves a multi-step development, such as cell division (mitosis/meiosis). Watching a short animation can help students to distinguish and understand each step better. Another advantage of using animations is that the teacher can always replay the video if neccessary.

this is a very useful tool for when introducing studetns to the topic of Biology. This tool defines biology and its relationship to other sciences and the everyday life. The fundamental concepts of biology and principles of the study of different orgnisms re studied in this website. I would definetey use this tool during the beginning of the year while introducing my students to the wonderful world of Biology
