The following steps will help you in planting any type of flower. 

• Preparation- This step is first and most important. There are many factors included in the preparation phase. You must choose:1. Planting location, direct sunlight given in location chosen, plant type (annual/perrenial), and soil type. 

• Planting - Dig a hole in the location chosen. Make sure that the hole is about a 1/2"-1" wider than the flower and root ball. Dig the hole deep enough that the root ball (the soil and roots that come with the flower) sit about a 1/2 inch below the surface of the soil. Gently remove the flower from its package and place it in the hole. 
• Covering - With the loose dirt that you aquired from digging the hole; fill the remaining space around the flower and root ball until the hole is covered. Gently press down on the soil to assure that all of the space is filled. Do not press too hard. 
• Watering - Immediately water the area surrounding the flower. Saturate the soil so that the flower will have moist soil for up to 24 hours. Continue this process every day for about a week. 
• After - After the flower has had about 7 days to settle into its new home, decrease watering to about 2-3 times a week. The same amount of water will be needed as stated in the watering step. Once the root system of your flower expands it will no longer need daily watering as it's roots will dig deeper to find moisture.
