High Strength Bolt Maintenance
This module, produced by the Wind Technician TV project from Highland Community College, introduces students to fasteners which operate under high stress in wind turbine generators. The module consists of five lessons, which are entitled: Fastener Fundamentals, Fastener Identification Codes, Wind Turbine Bolt Preload, Wind Turbine Torque Procedure, and Alternatives for Bolt Preloading. Each lesson has a video or animation to explain the concepts involved, and a skill check feature to assess learning and ensure student grasp the concepts before moving on. A PDF accompanies each lesson, with pertinent images and notes from the video or animation.
